Peffermill House
Edinburgh
Scotland
Sleeps 5/7
No visit to Scotland is complete without a visit to Edinburgh, its elegant and historic capital city. In fact a week here would not be long enough to sample all the attractions which ‘Auld Reekie' (the nickname came from the time when it would be wreathed in smoke from its inhabitants' wood and coal fires) has to offer.
And if you are staying for several days it is so much easier and more relaxing to have your own accommodation here so that you can come and go at will. Even more memorable if you can stay in Peffermill House, a historic house of great character which dates from 1636 and stands in its own 3 acres of garden at the end of a private drive. At the same time it is just a 10 minute drive from the Royal Mile, the Castle, Holyrood Palace, and the city's many theatres and shops. It is also on a good bus route.
This Schedule A-listed, fortified tower-house has been carefully renovated and restored. The Virginia creeper-covered exterior is quite beautiful and the interior, with its vaulted ceilings, is most comfortable and well-furnished.
Heating by wood burning stove and gas central-heating, bed linen and towels, are all
included included. Pets may be allowed by special arrangement.
